"Cambridge Healthtech Institute of Newton today announced the acquisition of Bio-IT World, Inc.’s media and events properties. The flagship publication, Bio-IT World magazine, introduced in March 2002, has grown from a 10-times-per-year publication to include a range of online and event businesses."

"Bio-IT World will join two other media properties: Pharmaceutical Discovery and PharmaWeek. PharmaWeek is available on the Web only while Pharmaceutical Discovery will relaunch in print and online in May following its acquisition last year from Advanstar Communications. Kuhl explained: “Bringing these three publications together allows CHI to provide comprehensive coverage and marketing programs across important life sciences sectors.”"

Bioinformatics will be at the core of biology in the 21st century. In fields ranging from structural biology to genomics to biomedical imaging, ready access to data and analytical tools are fundamentally changing the way investigators in the life sciences conduct research and approach problems. Complex, computationally intensive biological problems are now being addressed and promise to significantly advance our understanding of biology and medicine. No biological discipline will be unaffected by these technological breakthroughs.
